How To Make Lebanese Fattoush Salad

A refreshing salad with crispy pita chips, juicy tomatoes, cucumbers, and tangy sumac dressing.

Ingredients

  • 4 pita breads
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cucumber, chopped
  • 1 small red onion, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh parsley leaves
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp sumac
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Cut the pita breads into small pieces and place on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper, and bake in the oven for 10 minutes or until crispy.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together the chopped tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, parsley, and mint leaves.

  3. To make the dressing, in a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, sumac, salt, and pepper.

  4. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss to combine.

  5. Add the crispy pita chips to the salad and toss again.

  6. Serve immediately.
