How To Make Indonesian Martabak Recipe
A savory Indonesian street food with a crispy layer filled with spiced meat, vegetables, and eggs.

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or chicken
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
Instructions

In a large bowl, mix together ground meat, onion, garlic, soy sauce, coriander, cumin, black pepper, and chili powder until well combined.

In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually stir in water and vegetable oil until a dough forms.

Divide the dough into 4 portions and roll out into thin circles.

Spread a quarter of the meat mixture over half of each dough circle, leaving a small border along the edge. Fold the other half of the dough over the filling and press the edges together to seal.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, and cook each martabak for 3-4 minutes on each side until crispy and golden brown.

Slice each martabak into quarters and serve with beaten eggs, green onions, and cilantro on top.
