Indonesian Mie Goreng Recipe

How To Make Indonesian Mie Goreng

Spicy and savory Indonesian stir-fried noodles loaded with veggies and your choice of protein.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 500g of yellow egg noodles
  • 2 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 small carrot, julienned
  • 1 small red bell pepper, julienned
  • 1 small green bell pepper, julienned
  • 100g of cabbage, shredded
  • 2 tbsp of sweet soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp of oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp of ground white pepper
  • 2 stalks of scallions, thinly sliced
  • Fried shallots, for garnish
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Boil the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and rinse with cold water.

  2. In a wok or large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over high heat.

  3. Add the garlic and onion, and stir-fry until fragrant.

  4. Add the carrot, bell peppers, and cabbage. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the veggies are cooked but still crisp.

  5. Add the boiled noodles, sweet soy sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, salt, and white pepper. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the noodles are well coated with the sauce and heated through.

  6. Garnish with scallions and fried shallots. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
