How To Make Indonesian Mie Goreng
Spicy and savory Indonesian stir-fried noodles loaded with veggies and your choice of protein.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 500g of yellow egg noodles
- 2 tbsp of vegetable oil
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 small carrot, julienned
- 1 small red bell pepper, julienned
- 1 small green bell pepper, julienned
- 100g of cabbage, shredded
- 2 tbsp of sweet soy sauce
- 1 tbsp of oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp of soy sauce
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1/2 tsp of ground white pepper
- 2 stalks of scallions, thinly sliced
- Fried shallots, for garnish
- Lime wedges, for serving
Instructions

Boil the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and rinse with cold water.

In a wok or large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over high heat.

Add the garlic and onion, and stir-fry until fragrant.

Add the carrot, bell peppers, and cabbage. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the veggies are cooked but still crisp.

Add the boiled noodles, sweet soy sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, salt, and white pepper. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the noodles are well coated with the sauce and heated through.

Garnish with scallions and fried shallots. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
