Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Start by cooking the jasmine rice according to package instructions. Set aside.

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Set aside.

  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  4. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  5. In the same skillet, pour in the sauce mixture and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

  6. Slice the cooked chicken breasts into thin strips and add them back to the skillet with the sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring to coat the chicken in the sauce.

  7. Serve the chicken and sauce over a bed of jasmine rice. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
