Ingredients

  • 1 lb. of fresh white fish (tilapia, halibut, or snapper), cubed
  • 1 cup of fresh lime juice (about 6-8 limes)
  • 1 small red onion, chopped
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeds removed and chopped
  • 1 small tomato, seeds removed and chopped
  • 1/4 cup of chopped cilantro
  • 1 avocado, cubed
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Tortilla chips for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the fish with lime juice and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes or until the fish turns opaque.

  2. Add chopped onion, jalapeño, tomato, cilantro to the fish mixture.

  3. Toss it well and refrigerate for additional 10 minutes.

  4. Finally, add chopped avocado and season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  5. Spoon the ceviche into individual serving bowls and serve with tortilla chips.
