How To Make Pasta House Meatball Sandwich Recipe

A classic meatball sandwich with Italian-style meatballs and marinara sauce, topped with melted mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 8 slices mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. Cut the hoagie rolls in half and place them on a baking sheet.

  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, parmesan cheese, egg, oregano, garlic powder, salt and pepper.

  4. Mix well and form into 12 meatballs.

  5. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add meatballs. Cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.

  6. Add marinara sauce to skillet and cover. Simmer meatballs and sauce until meatballs are cooked through, about 10 minutes.

  7. Place 3 meatballs and some sauce onto each hoagie roll. Top with 2 slices of mozzarella cheese.

  8. Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is melted and bun is toasted, about 5-7 minutes.

  9. Serve hot.
