How To Make Gino’s Meatball Sandwich

A hearty, Italian-style sandwich filled with juicy meatballs, melted cheese, and tangy tomato sauce.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 4 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. In a large bowl, combine beef, breadcrumbs, milk, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, salt, pepper, and parsley.

  3. Shape mixture into 12 meatballs.

  4. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown meatballs on all sides.

  5. Place meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, until cooked through.

  6. Slice hoagie rolls in half and spread tomato sauce on each half.

  7. Place 3 meatballs on each roll and top with a slice of provolone cheese.

  8. Broil in the oven for 2-3 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.

  9. Serve hot.
