Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour.
  3. Melt chocolate and butter in a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together sugar and eggs until pale and frothy.
  5. Sift in flour and salt, and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in melted chocolate and vanilla extract.
  7. Divide the batter into the four prepared ramekins.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the outer edges are firm but the center is still soft.
  9. Let cool for a minute and then gently unmold the cakes onto a plate.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
