How To Make Sumac Turkey-Stuffed Pittas

We have turkey sandwiched between lovely bread, baked as pie filling, and cooked in a casserole. Whatever way it’s served, turkey meat is a versatile dish you just can’t get enough of.

Ingredients
- 4 large pittas
- 400g ground turkey
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground sumac
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Slice open the pittas and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.

Add the ground turkey to the skillet and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Stir in the ground sumac, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Add the diced tomatoes and cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat and stir in the fresh parsley and lemon juice.

Spoon the turkey mixture into the pittas and place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes until heated through.

Serve the stuffed pittas with a dollop of Greek yogurt and a side salad.
