Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.

  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  4. Add the chicken broth to the skillet and bring to a simmer. Scrape the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits.

  5. Return the chicken to the skillet and add the trimmed asparagus. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.

  6. Cover the skillet and reduce the heat to low. Let the chicken and asparagus simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the asparagus is tender.

  7. Remove the chicken and asparagus from the skillet and set aside. Increase the heat to medium-high and simmer the sauce until it has thickened, about 5 minutes.

  8. Serve the creamy chicken and asparagus over rice or pasta, drizzling the sauce over the top.
