How To Make Cereal-Coated Onion Rings

Crunchy onion rings coated in cereal for a unique twist on a classic snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, sliced into rings
  • 1 cup of cereal flakes
  • 1/2 cup of flour
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of black pepper
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 375°F.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cereal flakes, flour, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Place milk in a separate bowl.

  4. Dip onion rings in milk, then coat them in the cereal mixture.

  5. Fry the coated rings until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes each.

  6. Remove with a slotted spoon and let oil drain off on paper towels.

  7. Serve hot.
