How To Make Texas Sausage Kolaches (Klobasneks)

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 lb breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp butter, melted (for brushing)
Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.

Mix in warm milk and melted butter until a dough forms.

Knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal portions.

Roll each portion into a ball and flatten it into a disk.

Place a spoonful of cooked sausage and a sprinkle of cheese in the center of each dough disk.

Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.

Place the kolaches on a greased baking sheet and brush the tops with melted butter.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
