Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 50 minutes
Total: 1 hour and 5 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup flaxseeds
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, rolled oats, salt, and sugar.

  2. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

  3. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  7. Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.

  8. Cover the loaf pan with a kitchen towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes.

  9. Bake the loaf in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes, or until it turns golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

  10. Remove the loaf from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
