  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder.

  2. Add the vegetable oil and warm water to the bowl. Mix until the dough comes together.

  3. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.

  5. On a floured surface, roll out each ball into a thin, round tortilla.

  6. Heat a dry skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the tortilla onto the hot surface and cook for about 30 seconds on each side until lightly browned and puffy.

  7. Remove from the skillet and keep warm. Repeat with the remaining dough.

  8. Serve the homemade flour tortillas warm with your favorite fillings and enjoy!
