Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¼ cups warm water
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

  2. Add flour and salt to the bowl and mix until a dough forms.

  3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour until it doubles in size.

  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

  6. Punch down the risen dough and transfer it onto a floured surface.

  7. Shape the dough into a long baguette shape and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  8. Slash the top of the bread diagonally with a knife.

  9. Bake for 25 minutes or until the bread turns golden brown.

  10. Remove from the oven and let it cool before slicing and serving.
