Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain the excess fat.

  3. Add the onion, garlic, carrots, and peas to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender.

  4. Stir in the tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

  5. Transfer the beef mixture to a 9×9-inch baking dish. Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the top.

  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes.

  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
