Ingredients

  • 1 lb minced beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large skillet, cook the minced beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

  3. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and diced carrot to the skillet. Cook for 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  4. Stir in the beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

  5. Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish.

  6. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and place it on top of the beef mixture, pressing the edges to seal.

  7. Brush the beaten egg on top of the pastry.

  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes until the pastry is golden and crispy.

  9. Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before serving.
