Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, and onion for toppings
  • for Harissa Mayo:
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp harissa paste
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onions, chopped bell peppers, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.

  3. Form the meat mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.

  4. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  5. While the patties are cooking, prepare the Harissa Mayo by combining mayonnaise, harissa paste, and lemon juice in a small bowl. Mix well.

  6. Once the patties are cooked, transfer them to a baking sheet and place them in the preheated oven for an additional 5 minutes to ensure they are fully cooked.

  7. Toast the burger buns on the grill pan or skillet for a few seconds on each side.

  8. Spread a generous amount of Harissa Mayo on the bottom bun. Place the cooked meatloaf patty on top, followed by lettuce, tomato, and onion. Finish with the top bun.

  9. Serve the Meatloaf Burgers with Harissa Mayo immediately.
