Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef stew meat
  • 2 cups chopped vegetables (such as carrots, celery, and onion)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cups cooked egg noodles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.

  2. In a large oven-safe pot, brown beef stew meat over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes. Remove meat from pot and set aside.

  3. Add chopped vegetables and minced garlic to the pot and sauté for about 5 minutes.

  4. Add diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  5. Add browned beef stew meat back to the pot. Cover and place in preheated oven for 1 hour.

  6. In a small bowl, mix together flour and water to create a slurry. Add the slurry to the pot and mix well. Cover and place back in the oven for another hour.

  7. Serve over cooked egg noodles.
