How To Make Vegetable Samosas Recipe
Crispy pastry pockets filled with spiced vegetables, perfect for a snack or appetizer.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander seeds
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 2 green chillies, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
- 1/2 tsp salt
- oil for frying
Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, 1/4 cup oil and 1/2 tsp salt. Gradually add water to form a smooth dough. Cover and keep aside.

In a pan, heat 2 tbsp oil and add cumin seeds and coriander seeds. Once they crackle, add onion, garlic, ginger and green chillies. Saute until onions turn translucent.

Add turmeric powder and garam masala. Mix well.

Add mixed vegetables and salt. Saute for 2-3 minutes, then turn off heat.

Take a portion of dough and roll it into a thin disc. Cut it into half and form a cone with each half. Fill the cone with vegetable filling and seal the edges by applying water.

Heat oil for frying and fry samosas over medium heat until golden brown in colour.

Drain on kitchen paper and serve hot with green chutney.
