A crispy, flavorful Indian appetizer filled with spiced potatoes and peas.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 medium-sized potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
-
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and vegetable oil. Gradually add water and knead the dough until it becomes smooth. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
-
Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, and let it splutter. Then add ginger garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
-
Add mashed potatoes, frozen peas, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix everything well and cook for 5-7 minutes.
-
Roll out the dough into thin circles. Cut out each circle in half, creating two semi-circles.
-
Form each semi-circle into a cone and fill it with the spiced potato filling. Seal the edges with water.
-
Heat oil in a deep frying pan and fry the samosas until they turn golden brown.
-
Serve hot with chutney or sauce.
