Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cups spinach, finely chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chili peppers, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and oil together. Gradually add water and knead into a soft dough. Set aside for 20 minutes.

  2. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add onions and sauté until golden brown.

  3. Add ginger-garlic paste, green chili peppers, and spices. Cook for 2 minutes.

  4. Add chopped spinach and salt. Cook until the spinach is wilted and all the moisture evaporates. Remove from heat and let it cool.

  5. Divide the dough into small lemon-sized balls. Roll each ball into a thin circle.

  6. Cut the rolled dough circle into half. Fold each half to form a cone shape.

  7. Fill each cone with the spinach filling. Moisten the edges with water and seal the samosas.

  8. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry samosas until golden brown on all sides. Drain on a paper towel.

  9. Serve hot with Indian salad.
