  • 8 jalapeno peppers
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut jalapenos into thin slices, discarding the stems and seeds.

  2. In a shallow bowl, mix together flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Dip jalapeno slices in buttermilk, then coat them in the flour mixture.

  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).

  5. Fry the coated jalapeno slices in batches for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

  6. Remove from oil and let them drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

  7. Serve hot and crispy deep fried jalapeno slices as an appetizer or snack.
