  • 4 ripe plantains
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat enough vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot for frying.

  2. Peel the plantains and cut them into thin slices, about 1/2 inch thick.

  3. Place the plantain slices in the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  4. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried plantains from the oil and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  5. Sprinkle salt over the fried plantains while they are still hot.

  6. Serve the fried plantains as a side dish or snack.
