Ingredients

  • 1 cup of grits
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • 1/4 cup of milk

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the salt and slowly whisk in the grits.

  2. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes or until the grits have thickened.

  3. In a separate pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

  4. Stir the garlic butter mixture into the cooked grits. Gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese and milk, stirring until well combined and cheese has melted.

  5. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the grits are creamy and fully cooked.

  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
