How To Make Baked Goat’s Cheese with Hazelnut Crust & Balsamic Onions

Ingredients
- 4 slices of goat’s cheese (1 inch thick)
- 1 cup of hazelnuts, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp of flour
- 2 tbsp of olive oil
- 2 red onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp of balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbsp of honey
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Arugula, for serving
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a shallow dish, mix together the chopped hazelnuts and flour.

Dip each slice of goat’s cheese into the hazelnut mixture, pressing gently to adhere.

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until softened and caramelized, about 10 minutes.

Stir in the balsamic vinegar and honey, and cook for another 2 minutes.

Meanwhile, place the coated goat’s cheese slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden brown.

To serve, place a slice of baked goat’s cheese on each plate, and top with a spoonful of the balsamic onions. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with a handful of arugula on the side.
