Ingredients

  • 2 large green tomatoes, sliced 1/4 inch thick
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of cornmeal
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1 tsp of paprika
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of black pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a shallow dish.

  2. In another shallow dish, whisk eggs and milk together.

  3. Dip a tomato slice in the flour mixture, then dip into the egg mixture, and back into the flour mixture, shaking off excess. Repeat with the remaining slices.

  4. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Fry the tomato slices for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

  5. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
