  • 4 green tomatoes, sliced 1/4 inch thick
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, mix together flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. In another shallow dish, whisk together beaten eggs and milk.

  3. Dip each tomato slice into the egg mixture, then coat evenly in the flour mixture.

  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

  5. Fry tomato slices in the hot oil, turning once, until golden brown on both sides.

  6. Transfer the fried tomatoes onto a paper towel-lined plate to drain off excess oil.

  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
