Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 4 hours
Total: 4 hours 15 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 2 lbs beef or venison, sliced into thin strips

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, honey, brown sugar, minced garlic, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. Place the sliced beef or venison into a large resealable bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

  3. Preheat your oven to 175°F (80°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

  4. Remove the meat from the marinade, allowing any excess marinade to drip off. Lay the strips of meat in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

  5. Bake the jerky in the preheated oven for 4 hours, or until it reaches your desired level of dryness and chewiness.

  6. Allow the jerky to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
