Preparation: 10 minutes
Cooking: 4-6 hours
Total: 4-6 hours and 10 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for added heat

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, honey, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Mix well.

  2. Add thinly sliced beef to the marinade. Make sure the beef is fully coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.

  3. Preheat your oven to the lowest temperature. Place a wire rack on a baking sheet and arrange the marinated beef slices on top, making sure they don’t overlap.

  4. Bake the beef slices in the preheated oven for 4-6 hours, or until the jerky is dry and chewy. Flip the slices halfway through cooking.

  5. Once done, remove the beef jerky from the oven and let it cool completely before enjoying.
