Cajun Shrimp Dip Recipe

How To Make Cajun Shrimp Dip

Cajun flavors, bell peppers, cream cheese and sour cream are all present in this shrimp dip recipe. This is a lovely savory and creamy dip.

Ingredients

  • 1lbraw shrimp,peeled and deveined, leave the tails on 3 shrimp for garnish
  • 1tbspbutter
  • ½cupbell pepper,red and green, finely diced
  • 1tspgarlic,minced
  • tspCajun seasoning
  • salt and pepper,to taste
  • 8ozcream cheese,softened
  • ½cupsour cream
  • 1tsplemon juice
  • cupParmesan cheese,finely grated
  • cupsmozzarella cheese,shredded, divided use
  • 2tbspgreen onions,sliced
  • red and green bell pepper,diced, for garnish, optional
  • cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Coat a small skillet or baking dish with cooking spray.

  2. Set aside the 3 whole shrimp with tails on for garnish. Chop the remaining shrimp into ½ inch pieces.

  3. Heat the butter in a large pan over medium heat.

  4. Add the shrimp, including the 3 reserved shrimp. Cook for 2 minutes.

  5. Add the bell peppers, garlic and Cajun seasoning to the pan. Cook for an additional 2 minutes or until shrimp are pink and opaque. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Remove the whole shrimp from the pan and set aside.

  7. Pour the shrimp and pepper mixture into a bowl along with the cream cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, parmesan cheese and ¾ cup mozzarella cheese. Stir to combine gently.

  8. Spread the shrimp mixture into the prepared pan and top with remaining mozzarella cheese.

  9. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until dip is golden brown and bubbling.

  10. Garnish with reserved shrimp, peppers and green onions, then serve.
