How To Make Chicken Tamales Recipe
Delicious and authentic chicken tamales packed with flavor and spice.

Ingredients
- 2 cups of masa harina
- 2 cups of chicken broth
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- 1/2 cup of vegetable shortening
- 2 cups of shredded cooked chicken
- 1/2 cup of red enchilada sauce
- 4 oz of sliced black olives
- 4 oz of sliced jalapeno peppers
- 4 oz of queso fresco
Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, mix together masa harina, chicken broth, salt, baking powder, and vegetable shortening.

In a separate bowl, mix together shredded chicken, enchilada sauce, black olives, and jalapeno peppers.

Fill a large pot with water, and place a steamer basket inside.

Spread masa dough onto a damp corn husk, leaving a 1-inch border.

Add some chicken mixture onto the center of the masa dough.

Fold the corn husk over the mixture, and then fold up the bottom end.

Place the tamale into the steamer basket, and repeat until all tamales are made.

Cover the steamer basket with a lid and steam for 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Serve hot with queso fresco on top.
