How To Make Tonkatsu Pork

Ingredients

  • 4 pork loin chops
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Tonkatsu sauce, for serving
  • Steamed rice, for serving
  • Shredded cabbage, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°F and place a wire rack on a baking sheet.

  2. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.

  3. Dredge each chop in flour, shaking off any excess.

  4. Dip the chops in the beaten eggs, letting any excess drip off.

  5. Coat the chops in panko breadcrumbs, pressing firmly to adhere.

  6. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  7. Fry the breaded pork chops until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  8. Transfer the cooked chops to the wire rack on the baking sheet and keep warm in the oven while cooking the remaining chops.

  9. Serve the Tonkatsu pork with tonkatsu sauce, steamed rice, and shredded cabbage.
