How To Make Sweet & Sour Pork

Pork is one of the most commonly cooked meats in the world and we’ve decided to put our spin into these minimal yet tasty pork recipes that will have you looking forward to every bite.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of pork loin, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup of cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup of soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup of rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup of ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 onion, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup of pineapple chunks
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss the pork pieces with cornstarch until coated.

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, ketchup, and brown sugar to make the sauce.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat.

  4. Fry the coated pork pieces in batches until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.

  5. In the same pan, sauté the bell pepper and onion until tender.

  6. Add the pineapple chunks and the sauce mixture to the pan. Cook until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.

  7. Return the pork to the pan and toss to coat with the sauce.

  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  9. Serve hot with steamed rice.
