How To Make Ham & Crackling

Ingredients
- 1.5 kg ham joint
- Salt, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Score the skin of the ham joint in a diamond pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat.

Rub salt all over the skin, ensuring it gets into the scores.

Place the ham joint on a roasting tray and roast in the preheated oven for 1 hour.

In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Remove the ham from the oven and brush the oil mixture all over the skin.

Increase the oven temperature to 220°C (425°F) and return the ham to the oven.

Roast for another hour or until the crackling is golden and crispy.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before carving.
