How To Make Chunky Sausage & Tomato Pasta

Ingredients
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese, for serving
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions

Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent and fragrant.

Return the cooked sausage to the skillet and add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.

Simmer the sauce for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend together.

Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.

Serve hot, topped with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.
