Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork belly, skin on
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Score the pork skin with a sharp knife, making shallow cuts about 1 cm apart.

  3. Rub the salt, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and black pepper all over the pork, including the skin.

  4. Place the pork on a baking tray, skin side up, and roast in the preheated oven for 30 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden brown.

  5. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice the pork into thin strips to create the crackling straws.

  6. Serve hot as an appetizer or snack.
