Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 20 minutes
Total: 35 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb pork fillet
  • 2 tbsp five-spice powder
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • 3 cups cooked rice, chilled
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the five-spice powder, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Rub the mixture all over the pork fillet.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork fillet on all sides until browned, about 3 minutes per side.

  4. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast for 12-15 minutes for medium doneness. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  5. In a separate wok or large pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and diced onion, and sauté until fragrant and golden brown.

  6. Add frozen mixed vegetables and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until heated through.

  7. Push the vegetables to one side of the wok and add the chilled cooked rice to the empty space. Break up any clumps and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.

  8. Add oyster sauce, soy sauce, and season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the rice is well-coated and heated through.

  9. Serve the sliced pork fillet on top of the fried rice. Garnish with chopped green onions.
