How To Make Mongolian Beef Recipe

Savory and slightly sweet, this Mongolian Beef Recipe is a delicious blend of traditional Asian flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp ginger, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Coat beef strips in cornstarch.

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.

  3. Add beef strips and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until crispy.

  4. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.

  5. Drain all but 2 tbsp of oil from the skillet.

  6. Add ginger and garlic, stir-fry for 1 minute.

  7. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, and water, stirring to combine.

  8. Bring sauce to a boil and cook until thickened, about 2 minutes.

  9. Return beef to skillet and stir to coat with sauce.

  10. Stir in green onions and sesame oil.

  11. Serve over rice and enjoy!
