Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb potatoes, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • for the bravas sauce:
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  3. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

  4. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  5. In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and potatoes. Cook until the potatoes are golden and crispy, about 10 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  6. To make the bravas sauce, heat 1/4 cup of olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

  7. Add the crushed tomatoes, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, and salt. Stir well and simmer for 10 minutes.

  8. Transfer the sauce to a blender or use an immersion blender to blend until smooth. Set aside.

  9. In a baking dish, arrange the cooked meatballs and potatoes. Pour the bravas sauce over them.

  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.

  11. Serve the Patatas Bravas Meatballs hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
