How To Make Simple Deep Fried Turkey Recipe

Ingredients

  • 10-12 pound turkey
  • 2 gallons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1/2 cup black pepper
  • 1/4 cup garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Fill a deep fryer with oil and preheat it to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Remove the giblets and neck from the turkey cavity, rinse the turkey inside and out, and pat dry with paper towels.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  4. Rub the spice mixture all over the turkey, including inside the cavity.

  5. Carefully place the turkey into the preheated oil, breast-side down, using a turkey fryer hook or tongs.

  6. Fry the turkey for about 3-4 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) in the thickest part of the thigh.

  7. Once cooked, carefully remove the turkey from the oil and let it drain on a wire rack or paper towels for a few minutes.

  8. Allow the turkey to rest for at least 30 minutes before carving.

  9. Carve the turkey and serve it hot.
