Ingredients

  • 4 slices of ham
  • 1 cup of strong brewed coffee
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the ham slices with salt and pepper on both sides.

  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.

  3. Add the ham slices and cook for about 5 minutes on each side until browned.

  4. Remove the ham from the skillet and set aside.

  5. In the same skillet, stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.

  6. Slowly pour in the brewed coffee while continuously whisking the flour mixture.

  7. Add the brown sugar and bring the gravy to a boil.

  8. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes until the gravy thickens.

  9. Return the ham slices to the skillet and cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing them to soak up the gravy.

  10. Serve the ham with red eye gravy hot and enjoy!
