  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups seafood or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

  2. Sprinkle in the flour and stir well to combine. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.

  3. Slowly pour in the broth while continuously whisking to prevent lumps. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to low.

  4. Add the crabmeat, heavy cream, and Old Bay seasoning. Stir well to combine.

  5. Simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
