- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 jalapeno pepper, seeds and ribs removed, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup crushed tomato
- 1 cup corn kernels
- 1 cup black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup shredded cooked chicken
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Tortilla strips, for garnish
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
- Lime wedges, for serving

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, and jalapeno pepper. Cook until onion is translucent.
