Ingredients

  • 8 medium-sized apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, add the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, water, and lemon juice. Stir to combine.

  2. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 4 hours, or until the apples are soft and easily mashed.

  3. Using a potato masher or a fork, mash the cooked apples until desired consistency is reached.

  4. Taste and adjust the sweetness or spices, if needed.

  5. Serve the spiced slow cooker applesauce warm or chilled.

  6. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
