Ingredients

  • 1 small head of cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup of spiced ginger beer
  • 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, layer the sliced cabbage, onion, and minced garlic.

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the spiced ginger beer, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

  3. Pour the ginger beer mixture over the cabbage and toss to combine.

  4. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 4 hours, or until the cabbage is tender.
