How To Make Slow Cooker White Turkey Chili

Turn your leftover turkey into a creamy and hearty dish with our white turkey chili recipe that’s slow-cooked to perfection with veggies and seasonings!

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1large onion,(or 2 small) diced
  • 2cupscooked turkey,or leftover, or 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1green bell pepper,diced
  • 1jalapeno,seeded, finely diced
  • 19ozgreat northern beans,or white kidney beans
  • ½red bell pepper,diced
  • 2cansgreen chilis,(4 oz each) chopped
  • 1cupcorn,frozen, or canned
  • 1cupzucchini,finely diced
  • 2cupsturkey,or chicken broth, reduced sodium

For Seasonings:

  • 3clovesgarlic
  • 2tbspFajita seasoning
  • 2tspchili powder
  • 1tspcumin
  • ½tsporegano
  • salt and pepper,to taste

For Serving:

  • 3tbspcilantro,chopped
  • cupsour cream

Instructions

  1. If using raw ground turkey, cook with onion until no pink remains. Drain any juices.

  2.  

  3. Add the onions, remaining chili ingredients, and seasonings to a 6-quart slow cooker.

  4. Cook on Low for 8 hours or on High for 4 to 5 hours.

  5. Once cooked, mash the chili mixture a few times with a potato masher to thicken slightly.

  6. Top with cilantro and sour cream.

  7. Serve with favorite toppings.

Recipe Notes

  • If using leftover or cooked turkey, cook the onion by itself in olive oil or butter for about 5 minutes, until tender.
  • For a thicker white chili, remove the lid after 15 minutes and simmer uncovered.
