How To Make 3-Ingredient Steamed Cauliflower

Enjoy a healthier side by whipping up this steamed cauliflower! It’s made with tender cauliflowers that’s lightly seasoned and takes no time to make.

  • 4cupscauliflower florets,trimmed, washed
  • cupswater,or as needed
  • salt and pepper
  • butter,for serving, optional


  1. Place a steam basket or colander into a large saucepan.

  2. Add the cauliflower to the basket, then add enough water to cover the bottom of the saucepan.

  3. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer. Cover and cook for 5 to 6 minutes, or until tender-crisp.

  4. Season with salt, pepper, and butter if desired. Serve, and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

  • For a softer cauliflower, cook for 7 to 9 minutes.
  • If a steamer is not available, add ½-inch of water into the bottom of a saucepan and add the cauliflower directly to the saucepan. Proceed with recipe as directed.
