Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. In a small bowl, combine paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the salmon fillets.

  4. Heat olive oil in an oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat.

  5. Add the salmon fillets to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes each side until nicely browned.

  6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through.

  7. Meanwhile, boil the potatoes in salted water until tender.

  8. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.

  9. Add butter, milk, salt, and pepper to taste. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  10. Serve the spiced salmon fillets on top of the creamy mash and garnish with fresh parsley.
