How To Make Sicilian-style Tuna Lasagne

Ingredients
- 9 lasagne sheets
- 2 cans of tuna in olive oil, drained
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 can of crushed tomatoes
- 1/4 cup of tomato paste
- 1/2 cup of black olives, sliced
- 1/4 cup of capers
- 1/4 cup of fresh basil, chopped
- 2 cups of bechamel sauce
- 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the lasagne sheets according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.

In a large pan, heat some olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until softened.

Add the tuna and cook for a few minutes until heated through.

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, olives, capers, and basil. Season with salt and pepper and let simmer for 10 minutes.

Spread a layer of the tuna mixture on the bottom of a baking dish. Top with a layer of lasagne sheets, followed by a layer of bechamel sauce. Repeat the layers, ending with a layer of bechamel sauce.

Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top, cover the baking dish with foil, and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.

Let the lasagne cool for a few minutes before serving.
